Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Approximately 2,000 American Positions – Update
Paramount Skydance plans to begin mass layoffs the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed this past August valued at $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, as the firm planning to reveal full details during its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.
Earlier reports suggested the firm was looking to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 temporary project employees.
The organization has not yet commented on the matter.
