Unveiling a Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is currently underway, and players have found a variety of engaging indie games. However, one is particularly notable for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game lets you play a hero that is literally a turd attempting to travel to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: you only need a jump control. In one hundred fifty stages, you'll face boss fights and visit a store to acquire outfits for your dung hero.

Time your jumps with caution, since one mistake means restarting the level. Leap off air pockets to propel your character upward, cross disappearing ledges, and interact with buttons to unlock new areas. Collect currency and use them on challenging levels in which the action intensifies.

In terms of design, the experience features vibrant environments and catchy background music. The retro graphics of shifting basic polygons evokes memories of gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to recall similar titles where you control a piece of feces, interactive entertainment frequently included toilet humor. For instance, in Death Stranding, players make throwables from protagonist waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references is present extensively in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Despite its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already received impressive awards, including being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is accessible now on Steam, with the full game set to launch on computers in the fall.
