Discover Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a special event held at NYCC. Could this be a exciting new set or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful context. Everything mentioned below launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before diving into the many special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the mechanic a little (It counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer stated. “But on other planes, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it’s probable we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards outside of your main deck, many players were. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be near it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, although the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is selling a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with brand-new Turtle-themed art. The team showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
